The purpose of this research is to examine cultural discourse formed in innovation school of
Busan as a qualitative study on experiences of innovation school management. To achieve it,
theoretical discourse of innovation school was examined, discourse of innovation school field
and present regional condition were investigated and interview of experts was conducted. For
the interview of experts, 5 innovation schools of Busan, which had been nominated in 2015
and are currently managed, were selected and 5 experts whose jobs are head of innovation
division, etc. in each school were subjects. As a result of research, cultural discourse of
innovation school—establishment of self-activity culture, democratic management, formation of
social relationship ‘friendship’, creation of space for differences, formation of cultural learning
community, conversion of educational atmosphere—could be confirmed. The cultural discourse
of innovation school field makes a positive effect on school, teachers, students and community.
On the other hand, innovation schools must solve the assignment, recovery of school’s own
appearance which has been lost in excessive works and administrative tasks.
