The purpose of this study was to gather the basic data for the development of pre-service early childhood
teacher's personality education program for child abuse prevention. For the purpose, a survey was carried
out toward a total of 109 teachers of kindergarten and child care center in Busan by using the 5-point
Likert scale and free-answer questionnaire, so that the needs of personality education can be grasped. So
astyo grasp the level of awareness and need of personality education. The results of the study were
summarized as follows: Firstly, teachers were aware of the seriousness of child abuse by early childhood
teachers, and they realized that it is need to enhance the personality education focused on the child abuse
prevention, especially the current teachers said that systematic and efficient personality education for child
abuse prevention from pre-service early childhood teachers. Secondly, teachers require that the program
should include the items such as teachers' self-esteem, responsibility, emotional stability, self-control,
mission, consideration, empathic understanding, faithfulness, communication ability.
