최근 들어 진학교육보다 진로교육의 중요성이 강조되면서 학교교육에서의 지각변동이 일어나 고 있다. 특히 중등교육에서는 현 정부가 학생들의 진로설계를 위한 ‘자유학기제’라는 정책을 전면 시행함으로써 급진적인 진로교육을 추진하고 있다. 이에 자유학기제 도입에 따른 진로 교육의 방안, 동향분석, 요구조사 등의 기초연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있으나, 실천적인 교육 방법이나 이에 대한 적용사례와 같은 교육현장에 보다 실제적인 가이드를 제시할 수 있는 연 구들이 부족한 편이다. 따라서 본 연구는 자유학기제에서 추구하는 방향에 부합된 교육방법을 이론적으로 검토하 고 이에 근거하여 프로그램을 개발하는 데 첫 번째 목표가 있다. 이후 개발된 프로그램의 현 장의 적용가능성을 살펴보기 위해 현장에 적용해보고 그 결과를 살펴보았다. 먼저 방법적인 측면으로 ‘3On’s 프로젝트 기반학습‘을 이론적인 측면에서 검토하였다. 3On’s는 인지 (minds-on), 체험(hands-on), 정서(hearts-on)의 다각적인 측면에서의 교육적 자극을 말하는 것으로 프로젝트 기반학습과 연계하면, 자유학기제에서 추구하는 방향인 자기주도학습, 창의 적 체험, 육체를 활용한 경험, 다양한 표현, 자기성찰, 참여, 협업 등을 보다 다양하게 충족시 킬 수 있다. 이러한 이론적 근거하여 학습원칙을 도출하고 실제적이며, 통합적인 과제를 개발 하여 중학교 3학년 12명의 학생들에게 10차시의 프로그램을 적용하였다. 적용한 프로그램의 전 과정은 실제 전문가들이 업무를 수행하는 과정에 근거하여 구성되었기 때문에, 학습자는 전문가들에게 필요한 지식과 기술 등을 실제로 적용하여 경험 할 수 있었다. 그 결과 학습자, 교사 모두에게서 자기주도적 학습력, 프로그램에 대한 만족감, 진로탐구에 대한 긍정적인 반 응을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 얻어낸 결과를 통해 자유학기제를 실행하는 학교현장에 보다 실제적인 정보를 제공하여 보다 체험적인 진로교육의 활성화를 기대해보고자 한다.
Recently, as the importance of career education is being given more emphasis than admission education, changes in perceptions are occurring in school education. Therefore, the present study attempts to theoretically review educational methods that suit the direction that the free semester policy is pursuing, design a program based on this, make actual applications, and observe the results. First, methodic aspects were observed by reviewing the theoretical aspects of 3On’s project based learning. 3On’s refers to educational stimulation from the multiple aspects of minds-on, hands-on, and hearts-on and in connection with project based learning, the direction pursued by the free semester policy can be satisfied more diversely through self-directed learning, creative experience, experiences using the physical body, various expressions, self-examination, participation, and cooperation. Based on these theoretical bases, learning principles were deduced, practical and integrated assignments were developed, and a 10 session program was applied to 12 third year middle school students. As a result, positive responses regarding in the program. Through results from this study, we expect more practical information to be provided to schools applying the free semester policy and thus more experiential career education to be activated.
