1차 베이비붐 세대, 2차 베이비붐 세대, 그리고 에코세대는 동 시대를 함께 살아 가고 있는 집단이면서 각각 다른 특성을 지닌 집단이다. 그러나 세대간 비교연구 는 극히 부족할 뿐 아니라 주로 사회인구학적 특성, 가계경제구조, 자산 구성 및 투자 성향, 소득 및 소비생활 특성에 집중되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 1차 베이비붐 세대, 2차 베이비붐 세대, 그리고 에코세대를 모두 포함하여 이들의 일 가치관, 여가태도 및 은퇴준비행동을 비교해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 1차 베이비붐 세대 97명, 2차 베이비붐 세대 99명, 에코세대 96명을 대상으로 설문지 조사를 수행하 였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1차 베이비부머 세대는 다른 세대에 비해 일에 대한 내재적, 외재적 가치를 모두 높게 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 에코세 대가 다른 세대에 비해 여가에 대한 일반적 지식과 신념이 더 긍정적이었다. 셋 째, 세 집단간 은퇴준비행동에 유의미한 차이가 나타났는데, 1차 베이비붐 세대가 은퇴준비행동 수준이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 각 세대의 은퇴준비 행동에 영향을 미치는 제 변수들의 상대적 영향을 살펴본 결과, 모든 세대에서 공통적으로 유의미하게 나타난 변수는 행동적 여가태도인 반면, 이 두 변인 외에 도 2차 베이비붐 세대는 월평균소득과 결혼여부가, 에코세대는 성별과 인지적 여 가태도가 은퇴준비행동에 영향을 미치는 요인들인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과 를 바탕으로 세대별로 일, 여가, 은퇴 등의 관계를 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study is to compare work values, leisure attitude, and retirement preparation behavior among 1st babyboomers, 2nd babybmoomers, and echo generations. The data came form 97 first babyboomers, 99 second babyboomers, and 96 echo generations. Key findings of the study were (a) both work values, intrinsic and extrinsic values, increased steadily over the generations. (b) echo generations rated more positive cognitive leisure attitude than previous generations. (c) there were significant differences in retirement preparation behavior among generations. The first babyboomers were better prepared for retirement compared to other generations. (d) behavioral attitude toward leisure has been shown to influence retirement preparation behavior among all generations. However, other factors also influenced each generation separately, that is, income and marital status for the second babyboomers, and gender and cognitive leisure attitude for echo generations. These findings have implications for policymakers in terms of the relationship among work, leisure, and retirement with consideration of generation as an distinguishing factors.
