Creativity is a fundamental resource for individuals, organizations and nations facing an uncertain and
complex world that enables to have the successful survival and sustainable competitive power. Hence,
organizational context variables, especially organizational climate, that affect the creativity in work
environments have been the main target of numerous studies in the field of organizational science.
Although there are usable instruments for assessing environmental factors for creativity, the KEYS,
originally developed by Amabile, is the most representative instrument with scientific rigour and empirical
evidence. This study aimed at researching the validation of a Korean translated version of the KEYS and
explored some core issues regarding the definition of organizational climate and its analysis level in the
proper way. Putting aside criteria scales of the KEYS including creativity and productivity, 66 items in 8
evaluative scales were empirically analysed and tested. It was indicated that the results mainly gained
from CFA(Confirmatory Factor Analysis), reliability, and validity analysis(convergent validity, discriminant
validity, nomological validity) seem to satisfy essential requirements of the instrument.
