The purpose of this study was to identify the subjectivities of pain perception of nursing students. Q-methodology which provides a method of analyzing the subjectivity of each item was used: The 26 nursing students classified 28 selected Q-statements into a normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data was analyzed by the pc-QUANL program. Among the nursing students, three types of subjectivities of pain perception were identified. Type Ⅰ: Immediate problem-solving type, Type Ⅱ: Identify the cause of problems in solving type, Type Ⅲ: Pain acceptance form through empathy type. The results of this study suggest that specific strategies should be developed to promote awareness of pain perception among nursing students.
