Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find childcare center teachers and directors’ images freshmen perceived and examine signification of the images freshmen drew. Method: The data was collected from May 7, 2014 to May 30, 2014. The participants in this study are 32 freshmen enrolled in the Department of Childcare & Education. The participants drew the image of childcare center teachers and directors and described what they drew. Their interviews were collected as the data also. The collected drawing data was analyzed based on artistic elements. Interview and description on their drawing were transcribed, qualitatively analyzed and signified. Results: The result of analyzed data showed as follows: First, they drew the image of childcare center teachers such as a cheerful look, an affectionate gesture, an act of teaching. They perceived childcare center teachers might teach everything to children with a big smile. Second, they drew the image of childcare center directors such as an old appearance, a person in authority, an expert on education and care. They perceived childcare center directors might have an authority from child care experiences and perform various tasks proficiently. Conclusion: The result of this study revealed that pre-service childcare teacher training program should guide pre-service childcare teachers to understand childcare center teachers and directors in holistic view.
