본 연구의 목적은, ‘경(敬)’을 중심으로 한 퇴계 이황의 공부법을 학교 도덕교육에서 활용하기 위한 가능성에 대해 시론적인 수준에서 탐색하는 것이다. 본 연구에서 논의하려는 퇴계 사상의 도덕교육적 활용 가능성은 궁극적으로 청소년들의 인성 계발과도 맞닿아 있다고 할 수 있다. ① 이 같은 목적 아래 본 연구에서는 먼저 도덕과(道德科) 교육의 관점에서 퇴 계 사상의 경을 조명하였다. 특히 『2015 도덕과 교육과정』에서 새롭게 등장한 ‘도덕함’이라는 용어와 경의 상관성에 대해 살펴보았다. ② 이어 서 본 연구에서는 학교 교육에서 명상이라는 방법에 관심을 가지는 원인 을 언급하고, 유교 명상의 관점에서 경을 해석하였다. 유교 명상의 가장 큰 특징은 선한 본성의 자각 및 도덕적 문제의 해결에 초점이 맞춰져 있 다는 것이고, 이 같은 유교 명상은 결국 경이라는 용어로 압축될 수 있 다. ③ 마지막으로 본 연구에서는 『성학십도』를 중심으로 경을 학교 도 덕교육에서 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 이 과정에서 『성학십도』 에 수록된 10개의 도(圖)와 설(說)을 교수학습방법과 목표라는 관점에서 3단계로 나누어 재배치시켰으며, 운영 과정에서 염두에 두어야 할 사항 들에 대해서도 개략적인 수준에서 제시하였다.
The objective of this study is to introductorily research how
Toegye Lee Hwang's study method focusing on Gyeong(敬) can be
applied to school moral education. The possibility to apply Toegye'
thought to moral education suggested by this study are eventually
connected to adolescents' human character development.
Under this objective, this study first, examined Toegye's thought
Gyeong in the aspect of moral education. Especially, the
correlations between Gyeong and the term ‘doing morality’ newly
appeared in <2015 moral education curriculum> were understood.
After that, this study introduced the reasons why school
education had interest in meditation, and then Gyeong was
interpreted in the aspect of Confucian meditation. The biggest
characteristic of Confucian meditation is that the realization of
moral nature and solution of moral issues are focused, and this
Confucian meditation could be eventually summarized into the term
Gyeong.
Lastly, this study sought for methods to apply Gyeong focusing
