This study was designed to examine the effects of father’s belief of play, rough-and-tumble play
on young children’s resilience. The parent play beliefs scale, originally developed by Fogel and
Mendez (2006) and translated by Lee (2008) was applied. The rough-and-tumble play scale, adapted
by Lee (2009) was applied. The young children’s resilience scale, originally developed by LeBuffe and
Naglieri (1999) and translated by Lee (2000) was applied. As analysis subjects for this study, 216
young children’s and their fathers from the daycare centers in P city and Y-gun were participated.
To analyze the data of this study, spss 22 program was used, and to prove multicollinearity, VIF. In
order to investigate the relation between the variables of the study, pearson’s product-moment
correlation coefficient was conducted, and to find out the connection between the variables, Enter
multiple regression analysis was carried out. The following is the summary on this study: First, the
correlation between father’s belief of play, rough-and-tumble play, and young children’s resilience has
the relevant connection. Second, father’s play-based support belief of play had positive effects on
young children’s resilience. father’s learning-based support belief of play had negative effects on young
children’s resilience. Third, rough-and-tumble play had positive effects on young children’s resilience.
