본 연구는 북한이탈주민 사이버대학 사회복지실습생들을 대상으로 이들이 사회복지실 습 전반을 통해 어떠한 성장 경험을 하였는지 탐색하는 것을 그 목적으로 하며, 이를 통 해 보다 발전적인 실습교육체계 마련을 위한 기초자료로서 기능하고자 하는 의의를 가지 고 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 G사이버대학교 사회복지학과 북한이탈주민 학생 6명을 대상 으로 이들과의 심층면접을 통해 실습을 통한 성장 경험을 탐색하였다. 수집된 자료는 다 양한 경험 상황을 실질적으로 보다 구체화 하여 드러내주기 위한 목적으로 Strauss and Corbin의 개방코딩을 활용하여 질적분석하였다. 그 결과, 북한이탈주민 사이버대학 사회복 지실습생의 성장 경험은, 39개의 개념, 16개 하위범주, 6개의 범주로 도출되었다. 범주는 ‘탈북민으로서 위축감을 떨쳐내고 자신과 주변 관계를 새롭게 구축함’, ‘낯설던 사회복지 영역에서 전문역량의 증진을 경험함’, ‘남한에서 사회복지사란 무엇이며 어떠해야 하는지 를 자각해 감’, ‘남북의 차이를 인식하고 발전의 기회로 삼음’, ‘졸업 후 남한 사회 정착을 위한 진로와의 연결점을 찾음‘ 그리고 ’나눔의 계기가 되어 남한사회에 대한 공헌의식으로 성장되고 실천해감‘ 이었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로, 이들의 차별화된 성장 경험을 더욱 증 진하고 대학과 실습기관에서 반영하여야 할 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.
This study is to explore North Korean defector students’ growth experiences through their field work practicum. This study would be helpful in providing basic informations for improving education both within the university sector and also for the social welfare agencies that manage the program. In this study, 6 female North Korean defector students were recruited and they participated in in-depth interviews with their consent. Data was analyzed by open coding through constant comparison method in grounded theory. The results showed 39 concepts, 16 sub-categories and 6 categories. The categories include ‘building a new relationship with themselves and people around them through active trying’, ‘experiencing the growth of professional capacities’, ‘figuring out reality and the fundamental attitudes of South Korean social workers’, ‘considering the practicum as productive opportunities through recognizing the differences between North and South Korea’, ‘seeking the connection between the practicum and their own future career in the aspect of adjustment in South Korea’ and ‘growing a sense of social contribution through social sharing'. According to the results, suggestions for increasing their growth experiences of the North Korean defector students and perspectives that the universities, and community agencies who educate them should take into consideration in the expectation of improving field work education in more cultural competent way.
