Moral identity is a psychological construct which is made at the intersection of moral development and identity formation. It is regarded as a source of moral motivation that links moral reasoning to moral behavior. However, most of previous researches on moral identity have interested in finding the nature and inter-relationship of moral identity. Researchers made little efforts to propose teaching strategies for the formation and development of moral identity. In this regard, based on the literature analysis on moral identity, this article tried to explore developmental conditions for the formation of moral identity in both family and school setting. The findings from this study can be utilized as nurturing and teaching strategies for parents, teachers, and counselors.
