우리나라는 국가 수준 교육과정을 사용해 왔다. 그러나 교육과정관이 변화함에 따라 제6차 교육과 정 이후 교육과정의 재구성에 대한 교사들의 재량권과 자율권을 강화, 확대해 가는 추세이다. 교사 는 학습자의 상황에 맞추어 교육과정을 재구성할 권리가 있을 뿐만 아니라 비판적 시각에서 교육 과정을 바라보고 해석하여 실천에 반영하여야 한다고 본다. 그러나 이 모든 것은 국가 수준 교육 과정에 대한 기본적인 이해를 바탕으로 이루어져야 할 것이다. 교육과정을 이해하기 위해서 가장 기본이 되는 것은 교육과정 기술에 사용되는 교육과정 용어의 의미 이해이다. 따라서 본 연구에서 는 미술과 교육과정 내 교육과정 용어에 대한 현장 교사들의 이해에 대해 조사해 보았다. 연구 결 과 미술교육에서 빈번히 사용되는 용어(감수, 체계적인 발상, 지각), 미술과 교육과정을 이해하는데 핵심적인 역할을 하는 용어(소통, 조형 요소와 원리, 미술 비평, 미술사, 지각), 비교적 최근의 미술 과 교육과정에 도입된 개념과 관련된 용어(시각 문화, 공감각)의 이해에 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 그리고 추구하는 인간상 기술에 사용된 용어(다원적 가치, 인격 도야)를 이해하기 어렵다고 응답하 였다.
Korea has been had national curriculum. As the view about curriculum has been changed, teachers' authority about curriculum has been enhanced and expanded since the 6th Revised National Curriculum. Teachers have the duty and right not only to reconstruct curriculum in order to meet students' needs and situations but also to interpret curriculum with critical view and to reflect it to practice. However, all of these must be based on understanding about the curriculum. It is necessary to know the meaning of curriculum terms to understand curriculum. Therefore, I researched teachers' understanding about curriculum terms in 2009 Revised National Art Curriculum. It is found that teachers have difficulties to understand the meaning of terms which are used often in art education(sensitivity, systematic idea, perception) and important terms to understand the art curriculum(communication, elements and principle of art, art criticism, art history, perception). And, teachers answered that curriculum terms related with the concepts that have been added recently in the art curriculum(visual culture, synethesia) and curriculum terms used to describe ideal human images(multiple value, character building) are difficult to understand too.
