The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of multi-component intervention based on functional
behavioral assessment on the attack behavior and alternative behaviors of Autism Spectrum disorder
student. The research subjects are students who attend high school in a special school and who show
attack behavior to their peers in the class. This study used multiple baseline design across settings, and it
is based on the systematic functional behavioral assessment of the targeted students to understand the
functions of problem behaviors and conducted multi-component interventions including antecedent and
setting events, alternative behavior instruction, consequences. As a result of the study, multi-component
intervention based on functional behavioral assessment decreased the incidence of attack behavior and
increased the incidence of alternative behaviors. In the maintenance period after intervention, the frequency
of attack behavior decreased and the frequency of alternative behavior increased. Based on the results of
the study, we discussed the factors affecting the problem behaviors and alternative behaviors of students
with autism spectrum disorder related to characteristics of the student, mediation, and previous studies.
