본 연구는 요양시설 내 치매중재프로그램이 치매노인의 인지기능, 우울, 일상생활수행능력 및 정신 행동기능에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 단일집단 사전사후 원시실험연구로 대상자는 1) 65세 이상 노인, 2) 치매진단을 받은 노인, 3) 요양시설에 입소한지 1개월 이상 된 치매노인 96명이다. 중재프로 그램은 1주일에 1회 또는 2회, 총 8회기를 제공하였다. 연구결과 인지기능(t=-4.80, p<.001) 및 우울 (t=2.33, p=.022)에서 유의하게 향상됨이 나타났으며 일상생활수행능력(t=-1.47, p=.145) 및 정신행동기 능(t=1.74, p=.086)은 유의함을 나타내지는 않았으나 근소하게 향상되었음을 나타냈다. 이상의 결과로 요양시설 내 치매중재프로그램은 치매노인의 인지기능, 우울, 일상생활수행능력 및 정신행동기능 향 상에 효과가 있음을 나타냈다. 그러므로 요양시설 내 치매노인을 위한 중재프로그램의 지속적 운영 및 개발이 필요함을 제언한다.
The purpose of this study was identify the effects of intervention program among persons with dementia(PWDs) in long-term catr facilities(LTCT). This study adopted the one group pre-post test design. Participants were 96 PWDs: 1) over 65years old, 2)diagnosed with dementia, 3)who had spent one month in LTCT. The intervention program was conducted one or two a week for eight times. After program, cognition(t=-4.80, p<.001) and depression(t=2.33, p=.022) improved significantly. activity of daily living and psycho-behavioral function improved marginally. Results indicate that intervention program in LTCT is effective in improving cognition, depression, activities of daily living and psycho-behavioral function. Therefore, it is recommended ongoing management and development of the intervention program for PWDs in LTCT.
