The purpose of this study is to investigate what relation there is among temperament, basic lifestyle
habits, and negative psychological factors of mother with infants. For the object of this study, the 3rd year
research data of Panel Study of Korean Children(PSKC) (1,802 infant s of male and female from 23 to 31
months old and their families) conducted by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) was
used. As the research results, first, their mothers’ depression revealed a significantly positive relation with
emotionality and sociality of their children and their parenting stress. In addition, there appeared a negative
relation with eating habits, defecation, washing habits, and sleeping habits out of their basic lifestyle habits.
Second, parenting stress showed a positive relation with emotionality and sociality among infants’
temperament, but it revealed a negative relation with eating habits, defecation, washing habits, and sleeping
habits. Third, in order to investigate the integrated relation among temperament and basic lifestyle habits
and negative psychological factors of mother with infants, the conclusion of conducting a canonical
correlation analysis was that negative psychological factors of mother with infants were closely relative with
emotionality out of disposition and eating habits out of basic lifestyle habits.
