The purpose of the study was to investigate the current status of regional employment strategy and examine the future direction by discussing the issues and implications for it. In order to establish a regional employment strategy customized to each region, it is necessary to first specialize endogenous regional resources, develop regional skill mastery, and build a regional governance by establishing a long term vision for regional employment growth. Also, it is necessary to develop a third sector for overcoming growth delays and employment imbalances between regions and to establish a cooperative regional employment strategy that connects with the employment of other regions. In order achieve this, it seems that the vitalization of voluntary regional cooperatives would be advantageous to endogenous regional skill mastery and the formation of governance. Lastly, only when a positive perception of the regional labor market is established will regional employment expansion and a qualitative procurement be maintained, which serves the purpose of growing regional employment. The present study, though lacking from the viewpoint of elated interest to job creation in each stratum and the establishment of regional employment policies, will be significant in that it understands the issues over establishing a regional employment strategy, and may be used as basic data for establishing employment strategies for each region.
