2014년 KBS 다큐멘터리 파노라마 ‘21세기 교육혁명, 미래교실을 찾아서 - 거꾸로 교실의 마법’이 방영되면서 교육현장에 플립드 러닝(Flipped Learning)이 많은 관심과 주목을 받고 있다. 플립드 러닝 은 새로운 형태이 교육 패러다임으로서 학생들이 수업에서 주도권을 가지고 학습하여, 학습동기와 흥 미를 불러일으킬 수 있고 또한 정보통신기술교육 등과 결합하여 다양한 형태의 수업을 진행할 수 있 는 장점이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 플립드 러닝을 활용한 학습이 수학 학업성취도에 미치는 영향을 알 아보기 위해 초등학교 5학년 학생 실험집단 26명, 통제집단 26명을 대상으로 연구를 하였다. 실험집 단은 플립드 러닝을 활용한 학습, 통제집단은 전통적 강의식 수업을 하였다. 연구 절차는 사전 검사, 플립드 러닝 활용 학습, 사후 검사로 이루어졌다. 총 15주간 연구하고 분석한 결과 플립드 러닝을 활 용한 학습이 수학 학업성취도 향상에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.
As 2014 KBS documentary panorama called ‘21st Century education revolution, in search of the future classroom - magic of the flipped-learning' went on the air, flipped-learning in education has received a lot of interest and attention. Flipped learning is a new education paradigm so that students can take initiative in class, incur study motive and interest. Also, flipped learning can be combined with various types of education types such as ICT education. In this study, in order to identify impact of flipped learning on academic achievement of mathematics, we did experiment work for two groups, experiment group(26 students) and control group(26 students). While students in experiment group were applied with flipped learning, students in control group were applied with traditional classroom learning. Research procedure consisted of three steps, pre-test, flipped learning/traditional learning, post-test, respectively. After 15-week experiment period, test results show that flipped learning is more effective than the traditional study for academic achievement of mathematics.
