This study aimed to investigate positive perceptions of caregiving experience held by
the elderly caregiver and analyzed the factors impacting on positive perceptions of
caregiving experience according to the caregiving two-factors model. This study subjects
were 299 the elderly caregiver. The results of the survey are as follows: First, the result
showed that positive perceptions of caregiving experience are rather good and was
different, based upon geographies of elderly nursing homes and the shift systems of
work. Second, a sense of the calling, job environment, educational standard and a period
of career influenced on positive perceptions of caregiving experience held by the elderly
caregiver. Job stress was not a significant factor. Based on the results, this study suggests
ways to improve positive perceptions of caregiving experience held by the elderly
caregiver. Furthermore, it is suggested that the caregiving two-factors model is useful to
understand the caregiving experience held by the elderly caregiver.
