The purpose of this study is to suggest an effective lesson recommendation of Bernard Shaw’s work as
a liberal arts. His representative work, ‘Pygmalion’ was adapted as My Fair Lady musical, which has been
loved by audience until today. S university teaches such a work to its students as liberal arts. Through the
teaching methods for Blended Learning and Problem Based Learning, students who don’t have much
background knowledge on English literature can learn the work easily. To understand and make use of the
work, the students are required to have discussion activities. The purpose of this activity is to improve
critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and creativity which are the core skills required by the future
society. I have analyzed students’ response and satisfaction of managing a method of class. Specifically, I
have analyzed concern in learning through lecture using movies, satisfaction of chronological, satisfaction of
Daum Cafe, and positive effect through this lecture. In conclusion, this lesson recommendation is a
student-centered learning, providing liberal value via discussion.
