이 논문의 목적은 교양으로서 버나드 쇼(Bernard Shaw)의 대표 작품 『피그말리온』(Pygmalion)을 효과적으로 이해할 수 있는 수업 제안과 효과성을 제시한 것이다. 이 작품은 뮤지컬 『마이 페어 레 이디』(My Fair Lady)로 각색되어 현재까지 관객들에게 사랑을 받아왔다. 이러한 작품을 S대학에서는 교양 과목으로 지도하고 있다. 영문학 작품에 대한 배경지식이 없는 학생들에게 쉽고 재미있는 방법 으로 블렌디드 러닝(Blended Learning)과 문제중심학습(Problem Based Learning) 교수법을 적용시켰 다. 특히 이 작품을 이해하고 실제로 활용하기 위해서 토의와 토론 활동에 중점을 두었다. 이 활동의 목표는 미래사회 핵심 역량 중 하나인 비판적 사고와 문제 해결력, 창의력 향상을 위한 것이었다. 연 구자는 수업절차를 사용하여 『피그말리온』을 가르쳤을 때 학생들의 반응과 만족도에 대하여 분석 하였다. 구체적으로 영화 활용 강좌를 통한 학습 관심도, 연표에 대한 만족도, 다음 카페에 대한 만족 도, 그리고 이 강좌를 통한 긍정적 효과에 대하여 분석하였다. 결론적으로, 이 수업 제안은 학생 중심 학습이고 토의를 통한 교양적 가치를 제공하는 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest an effective lesson recommendation of Bernard Shaw’s work as a liberal arts. His representative work, ‘Pygmalion’ was adapted as My Fair Lady musical, which has been loved by audience until today. S university teaches such a work to its students as liberal arts. Through the teaching methods for Blended Learning and Problem Based Learning, students who don’t have much background knowledge on English literature can learn the work easily. To understand and make use of the work, the students are required to have discussion activities. The purpose of this activity is to improve critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and creativity which are the core skills required by the future society. I have analyzed students’ response and satisfaction of managing a method of class. Specifically, I have analyzed concern in learning through lecture using movies, satisfaction of chronological, satisfaction of Daum Cafe, and positive effect through this lecture. In conclusion, this lesson recommendation is a student-centered learning, providing liberal value via discussion.
