The purpose of this study is to find out constituting factors and elements of team leaders' career coaching
competencies in corporations, define their concepts and develop scale to measure the level of competency.
For this purpose, this study established two research questions; first one was “What are team leaders'
career coaching competencies in corporations?” and second one was “Is the measurement scale for team
leaders' career coaching competencies in corporations valid?” This study acquired basic concepts of
competencies from Delphi survey methods and draws out their consensus. Through literature review, study
drew out 7 constituting factors and 64 elements of team leaders' career coaching competencies in
corporations. Through Delphi surveys, This study drew out 4 constituting factors and 35 elements. They
were developed into 97 measuring questions for team members (subordinates) as examinees. A total of 725
questionnaires were classified into sample 1 with 413 subjects and sample 2 with 312 subjects, for which
basic question analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were
performed by using both SPSS 21.0 program and AMOS 21.0 program. As the result of study, for team
leaders' career coaching competencies in corporations, 3 constituting factors of career coaching value,
relationship management and performance management and 22 constituting elements were drawn out as
measuring questions. Finally, this study was developed into a measurement scales with reliability, construct
and content validity. The implications as well as the limitations of the research are drawn from the results
and discussed.
