The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of life satisfaction in female users of senior citizen
centers on depression. Female senior citizens that use senior citizen centers in K-gu, Seoul were selected as
research subjects, on whom a survey was carried out from May 1, 2016 to August 30, 2016. For data
analysis, the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program was used to carry out a t-test, correlation analysis, multiple
regression analysis, etc. and positive analysis results showed a significance level of 5%. Firstly, study
results showed that religion and current health status were significant factors for life satisfaction, while
monthly income was not. Secondly, the difference in depression according to religion, current helath status,
and monthly income was significant, while age and education level were not significant factors. Thirdly,
depression showed to have a negative correlation with life satisfaction in the following order: sense of
accomplishment, satisfaction rate of reality, self-worth, attitude towards aging, and life satisfaction had a significant effect on depression. The implications of this study are considered to be alternative base line
data for life satisfaction and improvement of depression in female users of senior citizen centers.
