The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends on safety education for daycare center and
kindergarten and for this, total 97 investigating journal articles published and dissertations written
from 2000 to May, 2017 were investigated. Firstly, it was found that the research trends by year
showed a rapid increase as the number of study consistently conducted from 2000 rose up to 2015.
Secondly, in regard to content about research of safety education, it was found that overall contents
were mainly about safety education and contents about traffic safety followed. Thirdly, for the trend
of study purpose, most of study were fact-findings and perception surveys and studies to identify
effect and influence of safety education followed. Fourthly, for study subject, most of studies were
conducted with teachers and most of them were teachers in child care centers. Data were mostly
collected by questionnaire and quantitative researches were conducted in most of time as a research
method. fifthly, safety education approaches utilized to prove effect and influence of safety education
were integrative program, assimilation, and family kindergarten links in most of time. Based on study
results, it is suggested to conduct various thoughtful qualitative researches and follow-up studies on
verification of effect and various approaches of safety education through various safety educations,
studies with infants and data collection from observation and interviews.
