아파트는 우리나라에서 가장 대중적인 주거형태이며 지역의 도시 경관에 매우 큰 영향을 미친다. 아파트의 외벽 색채는 도시 경관의 하나로서 인식되어야 한다. 아울러 지역 사회에 대한 영향력을 감 안하여 신중하게 다루어져야 한다. 그러나 현재의 아파트들은 획일적으로 색채 계획이 이루어져 도시 미관을 저해하고 있고, 이에 관한 의식 및 제도도 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 향후 아파트 외벽 색채 계획의 개선 방향에 대해 알아보고자 했다. 공간적 범위는 전주시로 한정했고 아파트 외벽 색채에 대해 조사 및 분석하고 시민들의 색채 선호도 조사를 실시했다. 이를 토대로 경관계획 측면에 서 아파트 외벽 색채계획의 기본 방향을 제안하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역의 개성을 살려야 한다. 장 기적인 도시 경관 계획을 수반하여 색채나 소재 사용에 있어 적절한 규제가 필요하다. 둘째, 도시의 이미지 연출이 중요하다. 도시 경관에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 아파트 외벽 색채를 통해 도시 이미지 를 창출할 수 있다. 셋째, 지역에 활기를 부여해야 한다. 색채계획을 통해 딱딱한 도시환경에 정서적 가치를 부가할 수 있다. 넷째, 외벽 색채를 통해 명암표현을 줄여야 한다. 대규모 아파트 단지에 양감 을 부각하는 표현은 적절하지 않다. 다섯째, 아파트의 저충부와 고층부를 구분한 계획이 필요하다. 여 섯째, 도시 내에서 지역별로 특징적인 색채를 유도해야 한다. 지역의 고유성을 반영한 색채 팔레트 개발이 필요하다.
Apartment housing is the most popular residential type in Korea and plays a big role in urban landscape. the exterior color of apartment building should be recognized as a part of urban landscape while considered carefully due to its influence on local community. However, current color plans of apartment buildings make urban landscape out of order, and the public understandings and systems are also not arranged well. Therefore this study aims to find out a better direction for color plans of apartment buildings-to-be-made. As the spatial coverage has been set in city of Jeonju, the analysis on exterior color of buildings and surveys on color preference has been brought out. According to the result, basic directions for the color plan of apartment buildings are followed; First, locality should be highlighted. The guidelines for colors and materials are needed with long term plan for urban landscape. Second, visual presentation of a city is necessary, which could be achieved by colors of apartment outer walls. Third, it has to offer a local community liveliness. Color plans is good to add some emotional value to the unfriendly urban environment. Forth, Color plan has to make contrast expression of forms. minimal. Exaggerating volume of masses is not appropriate for the gigantic volume of apartment buildings Fifth, the plans essentially divide lower and upper parts of buildings. Finally, each district in a city has to be driven to have its own characteristic colors by developing original color palette reflected the locality
