Today, the problem of theory and practice has emerged as a major problem of humanities and social
sciences. The problem of theory and practice hinders proper functioning of theory and practice. In fact, the
problem of theory and practice is a subject that has been discussed by various scholars for a long time.
Nevertheless, the problem of theory and practice still remains, and the problem is getting worse. In order to
solve this problem, this research explores approaches that can solve the problem of theory and practice.
First, we review the approaches of Aristoteles, O'connor, Schwab, and Hirst, the leading scholars in the
field of education. I then extended the scope to analyze various approaches to the problem of theory and
practice. Through analysis, I have divided into logistic, operational, inquiry, and dialectic approach to
explore how these approaches define theory and practice, how to solve problems between the two concepts,
what features are there, and what are the pros and cons. And finally, among the four approaches, I have explored the possibilities of the dialectic approach in order to propose an approach that is likely to solve
the problem of theory and practice.
