보육시설에서 영아 안전사고는 순간적으로 발생하며, 그 결과는 사고 당 사자인 영아에게 치명적(致命的)인 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 보육시설, 유치 원과 학교에서는 의무적으로 안전교육을 실시하도록 아동복지법에 근거하 고 있으나, 보육현장에서 실제로 실시하는 데에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 그 에 대한 교사와 시설장의 책임비중이 높아지고 있으므로 이에 대한 방책이 요구된다. 지금까지 보육시설 안전사고 실태 및 안전보육 환경평가 등의 연 구와 안전에 관한 교사의 인식에 관련된 연구는 많았으나, 정작 필요한 안 전교육의 방법에 대한 조사연구는 턱없이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 영유아를 대상으로 영유아들에게 자주 일어나는 안전사고 의 유형을 조사해보고 이를 대처할 수 방안과 안전교육의 실태가 어느 정 도인지 알아보고 안전교육의 내용과 방법을 조사하여 영유아의 안전을 확 보하고자 한다.
