In recent years, the rapid growth of the population in the domestic city and the development of the
new city has led to the decline of the existing city centers, and urban regeneration efforts have been
actively implemented as an alternative to this. However, urban regeneration centered on fragmentary
environmental improvement has caused social problems such as damage to the uniqueness of the area and
social inequality. Recently, as a regretful reflection and a proposal of alternative on this issue, comprehensive urban revitalization from social, cultural and environmental aspects as well as urban
revitalization using local history and cultural resources are under active research. In this thesis, we analyze
the application of sustainable urban regeneration in Jecheon City using AHP analysis technique through the
factor of collective memory, a factor that is actively being studied as an alternative of history. As a result
of analyzing the preference of urban regeneration factors through collective memory, among the 13
alternatives, the one given highest preference in terms of priority was the urban regeneration method using
local shared stories. For other factors, priority was given in the folloiwng order: the utilization of
community festivals, the use of socio-cultural events, the utilization of economic and industrial events, and
the utilization of social and cultural places.
