This study aimed to investigate how two different fields in education,
comparative education and politics of education, have shed lights on each
other. So the authors compare the contents of two journals from different
field, respectively; ‘Korean Journal of Comparative Education (KJCE)’ the
journal of ‘Korean Comparative Education Society’ (KCES), and ‘the
Journal of Politics of Education (JPE)’ the journal of ‘Korean Society for
the Politics of Education (KSPE). Findings are as follow;
First, education policy and education reform in the area of politics of
education are the main focus of KJCE. Themes of the elementary and
secondary school policy and the higher education reforms Iwere more
discussed.
Second, comparative education was located as a salient domain in JPE;
comparative research in politics of education and education policy were
mostly investigated areas.
Third, cooperative endeavors would be encouraged to extend to more
diverse research themes and methods in both fields.
