본 연구는 서울시립미술관의「시민큐레이터」프로그램 참여자들의 시민 ‘됨’의 과정을 밝히고 자 하였다. 이 연구는 서울시립미술관의 공적책임을 수행하는 과정을 담고 있다. 연구자는 교육의 관점에서「시민큐레이터」전시를 분석하였다. 기획자가 경험한「시민큐레이터」의 의미를 분석하 고 재해석하였다. 연구결과, 기획자들의 시민 ‘됨’의 의미는 담론의 실험적 과정으로, 경험의 재구 성이었고 상호관계(interrelationship)를 확인시키는 것이었다. 기획자들은 시민이기를 스스로 선택 하고 시민으로서 민주주의를 만들어가는 사람들이었다. 사회통합의 측면에서 이들의 기획행위는 사회적 포용성(Social Inclusion), 실현 능력(capabilities)을 통한 사회적 관계를 형성하는 시민 ‘됨’의 체험이었다.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the process of citizen ‘participation of citizen curator’ program of Seoul Museum of Art. This study contains the process of performing public responsibility of the Seoul Museum of Art. The researcher analyzed the “citizen curator” exhibition from the viewpoint of education. We analyzed and reinterpreted the meaning of “citizen curator” experienced by the planner. As a result of the study, the meaning of ‘being citizen’ of the planner was experimental process of discourse, reconfiguration of experience and confirmation of interrelationship. The planners were people who chose to be citizens and made democracy as citizens. In terms of social integration, their planning activities were the experience of being ‘citizens’ forming social relations through social inclusion and capabilities.
