본 연구는 한양대학교 국내소재 해외문화유산 DB구축 사업의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 국내소재 해외문화유산의 구축과정과 구축한 자료를 토대로 국내소재 해외문화유산의 현황과 특징, 그리고 수집과정의 특성 등에 대한 소장품연구라고 할 수 있으며 소장품의 등록에서 발생하는 문제점 에 대한 박물관학적인 연구라고 할 수 있다. 다양한 형태의 교류로 인해 우리나라에는 외국에서 유입된 상당수의 해외문화유산이 존재한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이들 문화유산에 대한 기본적인 현황 자료조차 찾아볼 수 없는 게 우리의 실정이다. 다문화시대와 국제화시대를 외치고 있지만 국내 소재 해외문화유산에 대한 국가적 관심과 정책은 시대의 흐름에 역행하고 있다. 이러한 현실을 타 개하기 위해 2015년 9월부터 시작된 국내소재 해외문화유산 DB구축 사업은 다양한 박물관에 흩어 져 있는 해외문화유산의 현황을 파악하고 자체적으로 구축한 입력매뉴얼 양식에 입력하고 있다. 2년 동안 2만 여점(2017.10월)의 자료를 입력하였고, 이 과정에서 국내소재 해외문화유산의 현황과 구체적인 실상을 파악할 수 있었다. 무엇보다 입력한 자료들의 신뢰도를 높이기 위한 작업과 함께 직접 박물관을 찾아 해외문화유산을 확인하는 작업이 반드시 필요하다는 점도 확인하였다. 그리고 다문화시대와 국제화시대에 활용 가치가 높은 국내소재 해외문화유산에 대한 국가적 차원의 관심 과 정책도 늘어났으면 한다.
A Study on Database Development and an Efficient Utilization Method of Foreign Cultural Heritage in Korean Museums aims at providing a process of database registration methods, result analysis and extended suggestions. Although many foreign cultural heritages have been brought into Korea and by interacting with people from different cultures, accurate current situation of foreign heritages in Korea was not studied on a national level. It seems to be very clear that foreign heritages have high utilization in today's multicultural and globalized age. On september 2015, a research on current state of foreign cultural heritage has launched and museum registration methods were developed. After two years of this study, Database on foreign heritages in Korean Museums includes more than 20,000 objects and this study is currently in progress. This study has a significance in that it is the first attempt to study on database development and an efficient utilization method of foreign cultural heritage in Korean Museums on a national level. Therefore, this research contains an agenda to raise awareness of foreign heritages in Korea with systematic approach and management methods and also requires data reliability and mutual cooperation for future study.
