The purpose of this study was to explore educational effects of children’s spatial ability and
representational ability by designing block play with pre-drawing and photography and applying it to
four year-old children. The research objects was four-years-old children who was belong to two
daycare centers. Both located in G city. The research objects was divided as experimental group that
consists of nineteen children from A daycare center and as controlled group that has also nineteen
children from B daycare center. Total was thirty eight. The experimental group was provided block
play with pre-drawing and photography for ten weeks. The results were as follows. Block play with
pre-drawing and photography positively affects spatial ability and spatial representational ability of
four-years-old children. This study was to suggest the better understanding of spatial concepts for
children by designing block play with pre-drawing and photography. Plus, this study contributes to
providing one of the clues in order for children to be curiously interested in spatial area. Block play
with pre-drawing and photography is expected to be employed for children’s spatial concepts in
children education area.
