This research was conducted with the theme "measures to manage the school curriculum for the safety of the students with severe or multiple disabilities" from a relatively microscopic perspective through the analysis of the school curriculum of the special school for severe or multiple disabilities, which is located in Bucheon in Gyeonggi-do. The research themes drawn from this are as follows. First, what is the current situation of applying safety education to the school curriculum of special school for severe or multiple disabilities like? Second, what kind of adaptation is needed for the teaching materials to prevent school safety accidents of the students with severe or multiple disabilities? The teaching materials to prevent the school safety accidents of the students with severe or multiple disabilities do not exist separately and as they are applied through the materials made targeting at the non-disabled students, the process of adapting the materials was needed. The problem of what to teach could be in terms of a "functional curriculum", and it was required to teach with the teaching methods that fit the cognitive and physical characteristics of the students with severe or multiple disabilities.
본 연구는 경기도 부천 소재지의 중도중복장애 특수학교의 학교교육과정 분 석을 통해서 비교적 미시적인 관점으로 ‘중도중복장애 학생의 안전을 위한 학교교육과정 운영 방안’을 주제로 연구를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 도출한 연 구 문제는 아래와 같다 1. 중도중복장애 특수학교 학교교육과정에서의 안전교육의 적용 현황은 어떠 한가? 2. 중도중복장애 학생의 학교안전사고 예방을 위한 교수자료는 어떤 적합화 가 요구되는가? 중도중복장애 학생의 학교안전사고 예방을 위한 교수자료는 따로 존재하는 것이 아니고 비장애 학생들을 대상으로 만들었던 자료를 통해 이루어지기 때 문에 자료의 적합화 과정이 요구되었다. 무엇을 가르칠지에 관한 문제는 ‘기 능적 교육과정’의 관점으로 중도중복장애 학생의 인지적, 신체적 특성에 맞는 교수방법을 통해 가르치는 것이 요구되었다. 그동안 학교교육과정에 안전교육을 반영하고 그것을 실시하는데 있어 많은 어려움이 있었지만 ‘2015 특수교육교육과정 개정’을 통해서 안전교육을 기 존의 교육과정과 달리 이른 시기에 적용할 수 있도록 배려하였고 국가 주관 안전교육의 방향성 역시 체험위주의 안전교육으로 그 경향이 바뀌고 있으므로 현장의 교사들은 안전교육을 학교교육과정에 적용하기 훨씬 수월해졌다. 그러 므로 이제는 학교교육과정보다 좀 더 작은 범위인 교사 개개인의 안전교육과 정을 편성하여 집중적이고도 중도중복장애 학생 개개인에 적합한 안전교육이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
