‘노인돌봄서비스’는 혼자 힘으로 일상생활이 어려운 노인 및 독거노인을 대상으로 안전 확인, 생활 교육, 가사 지원 등의 맞 춤형 복지 서비스를 제공하는 정부주도사업이다(Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2017). 노인돌봄서비스는 노인 및 독거노 인의 종합적 사회 안전망 구축을 위해 방문서비스, 주간보호서 비스, 치매 가족 휴가지원서비스 등의 프로그램으로 구성되어 있으며 법적 근거는 노인복지법(제27조 2-홀로 사는 노인에 대 한 지원)과 사회복지사업법(제33조 7-보호의 방법)에 기인한다 (Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2017). 노인돌봄서비스 중 방문서비스는 거동이 불편하거나 서비스 제공기관과 자택 간의 거리가 멀어 노인 스스로 서비스를 받기 에 어려움이 있는 대상자에게 방문형 복지서비스를 제공하는 프로그램이다(Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2017). 방문서 비스의 종류로는 식사 도움, 세면 도움, 신체기능 유지, 외출 동 행, 목욕 보조(보호자의 입회하에 시행), 화장실 이용 도움 등 이 있다(Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2017). 노인돌봄서비 스 중 방문서비스는 노인 대상자의 삶의 질을 높여주기 위한 다양한 프로그램으로 구성되어 있지만, 노인 인구에서 높은 유 병률을 보이며 일반적으로 수개월의 장기적인 재활이 요구되는 청각 관리 관련 서비스는 제공되지 않고 있다(Kim et al., 2017; Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2017).
Purpose: The elderly care service is a welfare project which is led by the government of the Republic of Korea. Although there are various visiting services, such as visiting nursing, hearing care services are not included in the elderly care service. This study aims to identify the effect of tinnitus rehabilitation for elderly subjects through the use of a visiting service. Methods: Fifteen elderly individuals with subjective tinnitus participated in this study. The rehabilitation for tinnitus, which consists of sound therapy and counseling, was provided to the local elderly welfare center through visiting services every two weeks for 8 weeks. The Tinnitus Handicap Index (THI) score was used as a measure both before and after rehabilitation. Another survey measured patient satisfaction with the visiting rehabilitation service. Results: Comparing THI scores recorded before and after the rehabilitation, total THI scores were significantly reduced from 32.35 to 18.8. In the case of the satisfaction survey, 93% of participants said they were satisfied with the visiting service; was 67% of participants indicated satisfaction with the sound therapy. Eighty-six percent of the participants responded that tinnitus rehabilitation should be included in the elderly care service. Conclusion: Tinnitus rehabilitation for elderly people through a visiting service may be effectively applied in the elderly care service.
