The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of patient 's stress, nursing service
satisfaction, and trust in nurses depending on the type of nurse's communication. Verbal communication and
nonverbal communication do not always coincide, and depending on the importance and degree of
coincidence, there may be various differences in the degree of influence transmitted to the opponent. This
study was conducted on 165 patients and measured by using communication, stress, satisfaction of nursing
service, confidence instrument for nurses. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 23.0 program. As a result
of this study, four clusters were determined within the possible number of clusters, and there was a
statistically significant difference in the standardized variable verbal and nonverbal communication according
to each cluster. In addition, there was no significant difference in the stress of each group, and satisfaction
of nursing service and trust of nurses showed significant difference. There was a significant difference
between the two groups. Therefore, a nurse's communication training program is required for effective
communication between patient and nurse.
