This study investigates the sports major students' preferred coaching style of golf instructors and suggests methods to increase the satisfaction and effectiveness of golf teaching. For this, 43 university junior and senior students who have majored in sports and have taken a golf class participated in this study. The questionnaire consisted of simple demographic questions, preferred class structure, and preferred teaching style. In addition, the items to find the preferred teaching style included explanation oriented, demonstration oriented, posture oriented, and practice oriented. Data was analyzed by SPSS 19.0. Major results of the research are as follows. The highest average were from students who most likely preferred "I would like to focus on swing posture practice" and "I would like to be a practice center". Amongst the explanation oriented, demonstrated oriented, posture oriented, it was found out that most students wanted the most 'posture-oriented' and 'practice-oriented' teaching styles.
