본 연구는 특수교육을 실시하는데 적용할 교육과정의 쟁점을 도출하고 그 개선의 대안을 모색 •제안하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 특수학교 교육과정의 법원(法源) 및 현행 「특수교육진흥법」 과 이를 대체하여 신법으로 공포된 「장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법」 의 교육과정 관련 규정을 살폈다. 이와 함께, 최근의 「2006 개정 특수학교 교육과정(시안)」까지 특수학교 교육과정의 변천과정을 검토하였으며, 현행 제7차 특수학교 교육과정의 철학(정신)과 그 주요 특성을 교육과정일반론에 비추어 재검토하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 현재 진행되고 있는 수정 •보완연구에서 반영할 시사점을 제언하는 한편, 특수학교 교육과정에 내재된 쟁점을 논리 및 법리적 측면에서 제기하여 그 해결을 위한 대안을 제시하였다.
The present study was aimed at drawing the issues related to special education cur-riculum, finding its problems, and suggesting some alternatives to solve them. To accomplish theses purposes, the sources of law of the Special School Curriculum and its related regulations, including the Special Education Promotion Law and the Special Education Law of Individuals with Disabilities and the like that was promul-gated in recent, were examined. Also, the revisions of the Special School Curriculum to its 2007 amendment (tentative plan) was studied. Then, the philosophy and main features of the current special school curriculum were reviewed in terms of curricu-lum general theories. Finally, the study raised the theoretical and legal issues inherent in special education curriculum and presented the suggestions for the study in work-ing to modify and supplement the 2007 tentative.
