Purpose: The purpose of this study was how the special teachers in pre-service to recognize with professional image of the special education teacher. Method: A questionnaire with 50 items were developed. The 563 students who were studying at the department of special education were participated for this study. Factor analysis and reliability, t/F-test, and regression were utilized for this study. Results: The special teachers in pre-service perceived six factors such as professional ability, role, personality, support needs, emotion, and physical appearance in professional image of special education teacher; and (b) sex was not important variable in all factors, grade was an important variable in the professional ability, role, personality, and emotion, volunteer experience was an important factor in the professional ability, and personality, and major especially early childhood special education was an important variable in all factors. Conclusion: The professional image was changing during the grade of the special teachers in pre-service.
