This qualitative research focused on how the patient\'s and her family\'s quality of life could be changed through the use of the music autobiography, which enabled the terminally-ill patient to review her own life. The researcher tried to observe what were the phenomena that occurred when the patient reflected upon her life through this music therapy technique, and how it contributed regarding helping the patient to wrap up her relationships with the precious family members. The researcher conceptualized and classified the phenomena that had occurred during the seven music therapy sessions using music autobiography technique for this participant. The categories emerged based on data analysis were: happy moments, release from pain, resistance, time of sacrifice, decision, things missed, and last words for the family members. The result showed that the patient could re-experience her happy and joyful moments through music, which enabled her to maintain a positive emotional state by stimulating happy feelings. Also, her family members who had not been able to express their love with each other, were able to have moments to confirm it through conversations and physical contacts. Through these experiences, the patient was able to review her life in a meaningful way. The researcher confirmed that music psychotherapy could provide the terminal cancer patient opportunities to resolve the unfinished tasks and to make a meaningful closure for her life.
