The purpose of this study is to develop a school based, solution-focused brief counseling program for children and to apply it at school. For this, I primarily studied a basic theory of the solution-focused brief counseling, and then based on precedent studies, I developed a wide spread solution-focused brief group counseling which can be comparatively easily performed to most children by counselors. The programs suggested in this study were based on theories and models like Sklare(1997), and Metcalf(1998). They are composed of two programs, one for 6 sessions, and another for 12 sessions so that counselors can choose one according to the school\'s situation. This programs has value in two points. First, considering the practical problems in school counseling, it can be helpful for many children comparatively shortly, not requiring serious professionality. Second, apart from traditional problem focused counseling, it assumes that children already have the problem solving ability, and also, it could find out strengths of the clients. I believe it\'s needed to even further develop the contents of this program, by actually performing it and by proving the effect of it.
