The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Gestalt group arts therapy program on reduction of depressive symptoms of clients who are suffering from sorrow, withdrawal, and suicidal idea. The researcher of this study has developed Gestalt group arts therapy program - ‘Happy Life through Music’ - which is applying ‘music and meditation’, ‘music and Yoga’, ‘music and movement’ and ‘music and poet’ into Gestalt therapy. Twenty-six subjects were selected from depressed inpatient adults participated in group rehabilitative therapy. And they were separated into an experimental-control group, 13 subjects in each group. After all subjects completed pre-test and counseling program for 13 times, using Beck Rating Scale as measurements, the scores were collected for post-analysis. Statistical methods used for data analysis were the ANCOVA(pretest score as cavariation). Results indicated that in experimental group, there was a significant reduction in the degree of depression.
