인간은 누구나 선택의 연속선상에서 행복한 인생을 설계하고, 자아를 실현해 가는 존재로 살아간다. 여러 가지 선택 중에서 직업과 진로의 선택은 삶의 여러 측면에 영향을 미치며 개인의 생활양식을 결정하고, 궁극적으로 한 개인의 인생을 결정하게 된다(김남규, 1999). 그러나 현대 사회는 과학 기술의 발달과 산업의 분화로 일과 직업의 세계가 매우 다양화되고 전문화되어 있기 때문에 자신의 소질과 적성에 맞는 진로를 결정하는 것이 쉽지 않다. 더욱이 시각장애 학생의 경우 시력의 상실 또는 저하로 인하여 진로 선택에 더 많은 어려움을 겪게 된다. 직업선택을 위한 여러 가지 요인들 중 학습흥미는 학습상황에서 가장 중요하게 작용을 하는 요인 중의 하나이다. 흥미는 학습에 대한 동기로 작용하여 학습 능률을 좌우하기 때문에 흥미가 없으면 학습이 거의 일어나지 않는다고 할 수 있다. 어떤 학습에 어느 정도 흥미를 가지고 있는가 하는 것은 학습동기와 학습활동 과정에 많은 영향을 미친다. 또한 학습흥미는 적성 및 학업성취와 의미 있는 상관 관계를 보이는 경우가 많으므로 학습흥미를 정확히 파악하여 활용한다면 학습효과를 증진시켜서 보다 성공적인 학업성취를 하는 데에 도움을 줄 수 있다(조붕환․임경희, 2002).
This study was carried out to find out desirable direction of career education through specific of learning interest of students with visual impairment and to provide fundamental data for career education program development. The conclusion of this study was as follows. First, Visually impairment students show high level of interest in language education, society education, science education, music education, practical arts education and investigation-type, society-type scale than sighted students and have a little low interest level in painting with many visual elements and creativity which makes unique answer and outstanding output. So we need to develop program which can upgrade interest of each part and to provide more chance on career education of visually impairment students. Second, Visually impairment students show lower interest in learning interest as they go up to higher school year and show higher level at sex learning interest among female students than male students on language education, music education, practical arts education, emotion-type interest. Thus we need to reflect this trend on career education.
