This study is an attempt to verify the utility of theory driven evaluation system, alternative approach, in HRD area and draw out implications for HRD program evaluation. In order to attain this purpose, B program in A corporation was selected and theory driven evaluation system applied step by step for evaluating the program. It followed by interview about the utility, feasibility, propriety and accuracy of the theory driven evaluation. The implications from the research results were as follows: First, theory driven evaluation system was useful to find out the factors which affect on the result of the program. The program theory reflected the unique mechanism of the program. The critical factors could inference based on the theory and the reason why the program was successful or could not become clear. Second, theory driven evaluation system improved the accuracy of program evaluation. In theory driven evaluation system evaluation questions were drawl from the program theory of its own and evaluation methods were selected to get answers on the questions. It helped to raise the validity and keep balances. Third, program theory in theory driven evaluation system should be revised to raise the feasibility. To adapt this model to HRD program cost-benefit should be considered first and evaluator should utilize it flexibly. These findings can contribute to confirm the possibility of theory driven approach in HRD area and suggest how to utilize it.
