The purpose of this study was to measure the occupational stress and its coping ways and correlation between them among teachers with visual impairments working in the school for the blind. 103 questionnaires were distributed to teachers with visual impairments working in the 12 schools for the blind and were analyzed in this study. The results obtained from this study were as follows:
(1) The occupational stress level of the teachers with visual impairments in the school for the blind was under the average. And the occupational stress subfactors levels were shown to be significantly higher among the younger and unexperienced teachers.
(2) In the ways of coping, the problem-centered coping ways and the social support coping ways were the most prevailing. Concerning the influence of their variables on occupational stress and the ways of coping, their variables made little significant differences. But, among subfactors, sex and visual acuity gave a significant influence on them.
(3) Regarding correlation between occupational stress factors and the ways of coping to them, there was positive relationship between the occupational stress and the ways of coping to it. And every occupational stress subfactors had positive correlation to wishful thinking coping ways. Especially, wishful thinking coping ways were the most positive correlation to the occupational stress.
