본 연구의 목적은 에니어그램 성격유형에 기초한 어머니용 유아양육태도척도를 개발하는 데 있다. 이 척도는 9가지의 에니어그램 성격유형에 기초하여 제작되었다. 이 척도는 제1유형, 제2유형, 제3유형, 제4유형, 제5유형, 제6유형, 제7유형, 제8유형 및 제9유형의 9가지 요인으로 이루어져 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 문헌 고찰과 경험적 자료 및 전문가 의견 조사를 통해 개념모형을 만들었다. 본 연구의 구체적 진행 과정은 다음과 같다. 1차 문항 선정 과정에서는 문헌 조사와 함께 서울 중류 계층의 유아를 둔 어머니 46명을 대상으로 에니어그램 워크숍을 실시하여 총 162문항의 척도 시안을 추출해냈다. 2차 문항 선정 과정에서는 서울‧경기 지역의 어린이집 또는 유치원에 다니는 3세에서 6세 사이의 유아를 양육하고 있는 208명의 어머니를 대상으로 총 90개 문항으로 구성된 척도를 개발하였다. 3차 문항 선정 과정에서는 문항 전체에 대한 상관관계 분석 과정을 통하여 총 81개 문항으로 압축된 최종 척도를 개발하였다. 본 척도의 신뢰도계수는 제9유형의 비교적으로 낮은 값(Cronbach α=.43 및 재검사 신뢰도계수=.38)을 제외하고 .50에서 .76으로 나왔다. 본 연구 결과에서 나타난 주요 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에서 개발한 척도는 이론적 근거뿐 아니라 에니어그램 워크숍에 참가한 유아를 둔 어머니들의 양육 경험 자료도 함께 수집 분석하여 질문지의 문항들을 제작하였다는 특징이 있다. 둘째, 본 연구에서는 척도의 문항 선정 과정에서 전문가들의 내용타당도와 더불어 실제로 유아를 양육하고 있는 어머니들의 문항에 대한 내용타당성 분석도 함께 진행함으로써 실용 가능한 척도를 제작하였다. 셋째, 부모의 자녀 교육에 대한 중요성이 점증하고 있는 현 시점에서 본 척도는 어머니들로 하여금 자신의 자녀 양육방식에 대한 현 실태를 파악할 수 있도록 현장에서 실질적인 도움을 줄 것이다.
The aim of this study is to develop a mothers’ child-rearing attitude scale based on the enneagram personality typology. The selection of questionnaire items has been conducted in the following three stages. In the first stage, 162 items were selected based on the descriptions about their child-rearing practices by 46 mothers of preschool children, who have completed 2 sessions of enneagram workshop and were able to identify their own enneagram personality types. In the second stage, 208 mothers of preschool children were tested using the scale developed in the first stage, and the collected data were analysed in relation to content validation for each personality type. Also, 4 enneagram specialists were tested using the same scale, and these data were analysed in terms of the respondents’ degrees of response congruence and content validity ratios. These processes resulted in 90 items composed of 10 items for each personality type. In the third stage, item analyses were conducted by calculating correlation coefficients between each item score and the total score of 10 items for each type. Thus, the final scale composed of 81 items were obtained by discarding the items that showed values of correlation coefficient lesser than .30. Although the 9th personality type showed relatively low reliability coefficients (Cronbach α = .43; test-retest reliability coefficients = .38), the remaining eight types showed high values for both coefficients ranging from .50 to .76. Especially, reliability coefficients for the total scores showed high values of .88, respectively. Accordingly, it is confirmed that the final scale can consistently measure the related traits for each personality type.
