현대의 급변하는 사회 환경과 이에 따르는 사회구조 및 가족구조의 변화, 개인의 가치관의 변화, 물리적 환경 등의 영향으로 일상생활의 적응에 어려움을 느끼며 문제행동을 보이는 유아가 증가하고 있다. 유아 문제행동은 한 마디로 정의 내리기는 어렵지만, 인지, 정서, 신체, 사회성, 도덕성 등 유아의 전인적 발달이 그 발달시기에 부적절하거나 역기능적으로 나타나는 것을 뜻한다. 즉 유아 연령에 알맞은 규범적 행동으로 보기에는 부적절하거나 부적응적인 행동이나 태도를 보여 정상발달에 손상을 갖는 것으로, 문제행동은 1940년대까지는 일반적으로 사회적 부적응(socially maladjusted)라는 용어로 쓰이다가 50년대 이후에는 프로이드의 영향을 받아 정서장애(emotional handicappted)라는 용어로 쓰였다. 그리고 60년대 후반부터는 ‘행동문제(behavioral problem)’, ‘비정상(abnormal)’, ‘행동장애(behavioral disturbances)’ ‘역기능적 행동(behavioral dysfunction)’등의 용어와 혼용되고 있다. 유아 문제행동을 넓은 의미로 사회적 기대 및 규범에서 벗어난 행동을 보이거나 자신이나 타인을 괴롭히는 행동으로 정의하기도 한다(Wicks-Nelson & Israel, 1991).
Preschoolers\' problem behavior by social competence and emotional intelligence. The purpose of this study was to investigate the early childhood problem to influence by social competence and emotional intelligence. The target on this study 823 preschoolers\' by 81 teachers, and then they used to research analysis. At first, this study was investigated the difference preschoolers\' behavior, social competence and emotional intelligence by sex and age of the factor of demographic variables. In preschoolers\' problem behavior, the men showed the high level of problem behavior than the women. But in social competence and emotional intelligence, the women showed the high level than the men. In the age, 5 age group showed low level of problem behavior, and 4 and 5 age group showed high level of social competence and emotional intelligence And between social competence and preschoolers\' behaviors was showed negative correlation except ‘emotional characteristic’. And between emotive intelligence and preschooler\'s behavior was showed negative correlation except ‘awareness and expression of self-emotion’ and ‘sexual’ problem. This study has significant to effect to diagnosis, protect and therapy to preschoolers\' problem behavior for research preschoolers\' problem behavior to influence eff social competence and emotive intelligence.
