The purpose of this paper is to show how to choose and teach cultural elements from elementary English text books. As English and American cultures are quitre different from Korean culture in their creation and belief, their linguistic expressions can\'t but be different each other. In order to increase students\' English abilities they have to understand English cultures first of all while they study English. To achieve the research goals the relationship between communication and culture were studied. I proposed that more practical purposes for the efficient cultural education in elementary education be established and use them easily during the classes. I showed how teachers should choose the cultural elements from the text books. And according to the way I showed, I chose cultural elements from the sixth grade textbooks and introduced how to teach the elements along with their explanation. Teachers should pay close attention to students\' linguistic communication competence as well as to understanding teaching English culture.
