The purpose of this paper is to find out Comenius influence on the modern educational thoughts, after examining his educational idealism, his educational contents, educational methodology, and his school theory, as well as his life career, religious thoughts, his humanism, his view of nature, and his theory of knowledge. Comenius educational philosophy is basically based on humanism from his thorough christianity. He proposed a general educational view that every human should get education, but that it is not equality to educate all people with the same educational contents because their abilities are various. He understands education is a course of the growth of humanism. As educational contents he suggested that knowledge education, moral education, and religious education must be stressed in order to maintain our human civilization. He also showed as an educational method a natural approach based on the principles of whole nature. He suggested the necessity of school education and the four stage school system, which contributed a part of modern western education. Comenius educational thoughts and philosophy can be said to be suggestive of the direction of present Korean education.
