본 연구는 인권교육을 민주시민교육․정치교육․사회과교육의 맥락에서 파악하고 민주시민 교육의 관점에서 인권교육의 현황과 문제점을 분석한 후에 인권교육의 개선방안을 제시하 는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 연구목적을 달성하기 위한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1) 민주시민교육, 정치교육, 사회과교육, 인권교육의 관계를 어떻게 정립할 것인가? 2) 학교 인권교육의 현황은 어떠하고 그 문제점은 무엇인가? 3) 민주시민교육을 위한 인권교육의 개선방안은 무엇인가? 현행 학교 인권교육의 문제점을 요약하면 인권교육이 비체계적, 비통합적, 비참여적으로 이루어지고 있다는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 개선하기위한 방안으로 인권교육의 체계화 방안, 통합화 방안, 참여화 방안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this article is to grasp the human rights education in connection with democratic citizenship education, political education and social studies education, to analyze present condition and problem of human rights education, and to suggest the improvement scheme of it. The major matters of this study are as follows; 1) What is the connection of human rights education, democratic citizenship education, political education and social studies education? 2) What are the present condition and problem of human rights education. 3) What are the improvement schemes of human rights education for the democratic citizenship education. Summarizing the human rights education in schools, human rights education is carried out un-systematic, un-unifying and un-participating. This article proposes the systemizing, unifying and participating schemes of human rights education as the improvement schemes of it.
