This study analyzed the influence of the admission elements on college admission and college GPA under both standardized scoring system and graded scoring system of Scholastic Aptitude Test(SAT).
The results show that (1) the influence of SAT to college admission was not decreased by the scoring system change from standardized scoring to graded scoring of SAT, but the influence of High School Record(HSR) was decreased on college admission by the scoring system change. (2) The influence of admission elements- SAT, HSR, interview, essay, and performance test- on college GPA was not changed much by scoring system change. (3) The
influence of SAT, interview, and performance test was higher on college admission than on college GPA, but the influence of HSR and essay was lower on college admission than on college GPA under both scoring systems. Implications of the results were discussed.
