The purpose of this paper was to inform general education teachers who teach students with learning problems in inclusive classrooms of effective assessments and instructional approaches in reading comprehension. Information about these assessments and instructional approaches helps teachers in inclusive classrooms understand the difficulties which their students with learning problems have and develop and implement assessment and instruction to meet their educational needs. Teachers who acquire such knowledge can enhance the reading performance of their students by providing them with appropriate reading instruction and also lead to the academic success of all students including those with learning problems.
