국제개발협력교육은 우리나라에서 아직 시행 초기여서 실질적인 교육이 이루 어지지 못하고 있다. 국제개발협력교육에 대한 개념은 국제이해교육이나 세계시 민교육 등의 여러 용어와 함께 쓰이고 있으며, 세계시민교육과 더불어 실질적인 활동이 구상되고 실현되는 분야라고 볼 수 있다. 국제개발협력교육을 초등현장 에 적용하기 위해서는 이의 의미에 대한 개념 정의와 더불어 수업의 기본 방향 과 성격을 설정해야 한다. 이를 초등수준에 맞추어 3차시로 구성하여 적용하였 다. 1차시에서 국제개발협력이 필요한 이유를 스스로 찾아내도록 유도하고 2차 시에서는 국제개발협력이 이루어지고 있는 모습, 그리고 3차시에서는 앞으로 국 제개발협력이 나아가야 할 방향을 중심으로 수업을 설계하였다. 수업을 실시한 결과, 학생들의 국제개발협력에 관심과 이해도가 높아졌으며 참여의지도 향상되 었다. 본 연구 결과는 서울시내 하나의 학교에서 실시된 내용으로 이를 전체적 으로 일반화하기는 무리가 있으나 교사가 학습자수준을 판단하여 수업을 구상하 는 교육전문가임을 고려할 때 국제개발협력내용을 초등수업에 적용한 유의미한 시도가 될 것이다.
It is not easy to find exact meaning about international cooperation Education(ICE) because it is the first time to try to apply the elementary curriculum. The concept of ICE is very confusing, which is thought similar to global citizenship or international understanding education, but generally this is the concept of practical part whereas global citizenship education is more focused on the part of thought. To apply ICE to elementary curriculum, we need to find not only the definition of ICE but also the direction and the character of the lesson. To try to study, I make three-period of lesson plan and put it into action. The 1st period is to induce the students to find the reasons of poverty and find out why we need to know this by themselves. The aim of 2nd period is the direction and the way of government or organization is doing for international cooperation, lastly the 3rd period, the students need to find how to do IC in a good way. As a result, I found that the students have better empathy ability than adults and they have many interest of global issues. They have enough capacity to learn about this field. Actually, this study is just one example for students in special area, but it can be a meaningful try because there is little research case for this.
